THE EDINBURGH CYCLING CONTEST
Aberdeen Weekly Journal (Scotland) Thursday, 21-Apr-1892

“The six days’ (eight hours a day) professional bicycle championship race was resumed yesterday afternoon in the Waverley Market, Edinburgh. The same five as yesterday started - Howell, Stage, Lamb, A. H. Robb and Wood. For most of the first hours Howell led the men round at a clinking pace, with occasional spurts, but the five kept well together, and towards the close of the hour were taken round by English, Howell retiring. Last night’s finish of the contest left Stage and Robb in Possession. Wood lost eight miles.”
